Picco .26 Red Dot stalls when bake is applied.

Please help, just installed a picco .26 red dot in my Revo 3.3. When the I put the brake on it cuts out instantly :( & also the wheels turn when im pulling the pull start is this normal? I have adjusted the LSN rich untill it cuts of and lean until its reving to high & played with the idle. This is a brand new engine and I also put a new clutch spring on it, as it snapped on the original 3.3 engine. I've also installed MIP CVDs on axles and centre, centre diff plus other parts dont know if any of these could be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as my hands are covered in blisters and bleeding from starting this thing over & over again. Just want to go bashing now.

Check your clutch again. If it is bound up and you stop the truck it will stop the motor. Also check your linkage to make sure that when you hit the brake the carb doesn't close as that will kill the engine too.

A few things to look at/for here:

1)The spring groves in the clutch shoes are burred to the point where the spring doesn't fully seat in them. This makes the spring drag on the bell.

2)One or both of the clutch shoe pins are pulling out of the flywheel and rubbing on the inside of the clutch bell. Look for a wear groove inside the bell and check the 'stickout' length of the pins.

3)You don't have the clutch bell shimmed right and the bearings don't spin freely because of it.

4)The idle screw is backed out too far on the carb, letting the slide close too much at ide.

Since you mentioned the wheels turning when you pull the PS then I believe the problem does indeed reside in the clutch somewhere.


Do yourself a HUGE favor. Ditch the pull start. At least install a roto/shaft start or Tiger Drive system. Best thing is to buy a starter box. A couple of guys here are selling them now. You'll thank me....
