Ever see a diff go out like this?
I managed to get some free time and hit the beach this evening and towards the end of the second set of lipos the rear diff let go. Clicking and popping, it was pretty obvious it was a diff.
So I pull it apart and find the pinion bearing had melted itself to the drive shaft and split the side of the diff housing. No problems with the inner diff, just the pinion twisting... Is there any advantage to an aluminum diff housing? Perhaps it dissipates more heat? |

wow serious carnage there....looks like sand might have taken that bearing out causing massive diff failure
